Our Ministry Team

Article Pic At Woodhaven all members are ministers. God has blessed our church with strong leaders in many areas. A number of our teachers are specialists in their fields which include our preschool and children's ministries, youth and adult ministries, and missions education. Offering quality ministries are important to us. Our goal is to develop a mature family of faith whose members are loving, generous, and cooperative. We take seriously the belief that God has called each of us to minister in His name.

Dr. Dennis Bazemore

Interim Pastor - Dr. Bazemore and his wife Linda are natives of Ahoskie, NC and currently living in Lillington.  He received his BA in Religion from Campbell College, his Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Doctor of Ministry from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He is currently the Vice President for Student Life at Campbell University.  Dr. Bazemore has served a number of Baptist Churches in North Carolina and for 14 years was Pastor at First Church of Wallace.   Mrs. Bazemore holds her bachelor's and master's degrees from Campbell University.  She is a guidance counselor for the Johnston County School System.  The Bazemores are the parents of two children: Stephen, a 2006 graduate of Campbell and Hannah, a current student at Campbell. 

 

Rev. Brent Rector

Article Pic Associate Pastor -  A native of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, Brent holds a Master of Divinity with Religious Education from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1979 and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. enjoys golf, tennis and family life events. Brent and his wife Denise have two children, Brandon, a graduate of NCSU and television meteorologist in Nebraska and Elise, a graduate of UNC-G and a manager at Nordstrom.  Brent Rector

Dr. Stephanie Dillard de Jong

Article Pic Minister of Music and Worship  - Stephanie, a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, received her D.M.A. from the University of South Carolina, M.M. from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, and B.M. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  Before coming to Woodhaven, Stephanie has held academic professorships at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina and The University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama.  Active as a recitalist, she often collaborates with her husband, trumpeter, Dennis de Jong in exploring literature for soprano and trumpet. 

Stephanie and Dennis have three children, Chandler, Luke and Grant.  The family enjoys traveling to the beach and mountains.      Stephanie de Jong

Leah Anderson

Youth Pastor - Leah is a native of Washington, NC.  A graduate of Campbell University, in 2008 she earned a B.A. in Religion.  She is currently in her second year at Campbell University Divinity School, pursuing an MDIV.  When Leah was a freshman in college, her parents moved to Scotland Neck, NC where they still reside.  Before joining the staff at Woodhaven, Leah worked at NC State University as their Baptist Campus Ministry Intern.  She enjoys working with students, traveling, social justice issues, jewelry making, interior design, funny people, and reality television.  As the youth pastor at Woodhaven, Leah strives to foster an environment where students know that they are loved and accepted.  It is her goal to show students the radical, transforming love of God.  She hopes that we can all learn, share, and grow together on this journey of faith.

Susan Simpson

Organist and Music Associate - Susan is an experienced organist, having served churches in SC and NC.  She holds a degree in organ from Meredith College and has experience working with various types of music ministry.  She and her family live in Cary and are members at Woodhaven.

 

Carrie Aenmey

Office Manager - Carrie worked as an administrative assistant for five years at Heritage Christian Church in Fayetteville, Georgia before moving to the Raleigh area.  Having majored in theatre, Carrie enjoys all areas of the cultural arts and spent the years immediately following college working in professional theatre both in backstage roles and playwriting.  This Georgia native is married to Kevin who is originally from Johannesburg, South Africa.  Together they enjoy traveling and spending time in the great outdoors.

 

Sandy Stillman-Alvin

Contemporary Worship Leader:  Sandy began singing Southern Gospel music with her mother in churches all over eastern NC as a small child. By the age of 16, she discovered her ability to play music by ear (after having had 10 years of piano lessons, learning how to read music) and then to write, play, and sing her own music.  Sandy comes to us with a treasure of contemporary worship leadership experience at three other churches in the Triangle.  She is an accomplished musician, having published a professional CD entitled "Right Where You Belong," as well as several singles.  In her spare time, Sandy works with her husband providing music and DJ services for weddings, corporate events, among others, through their business, Alvin Entertainment.  In addition, she is the director for the Wake Med Chorus and is an ongoing performer with the "Guitars & Friends" show.

Sandy lives in Raleigh with her husband, Steve and three children, Josh, London, and Jaden, all of whom are talented musicians! 

Sherry Williams

Article Pic Weekday Preschool Ministry Director  - Sherry has several years of experience in the childcare field and has been a member of Woodhaven since 1994. She and her husband David have two children, Taylor and Clint.
