MUSIC MINISTRY

Music is a wonderful part of our ministry here at Woodhaven.  I would like to take the opportunity to share with you our current offerings in the Music Ministry.  This is a general sketch of each group, so if you have further questions, please do not hesitate to call or email me.  Stephanie de Jong

PRESCHOOL CHERUBS

Our Preschool Cherub group is for children ages 3 and 4.  Preschool Cherubs is designed to allow children to have a fun and successful introduction to music.  The children learn songs, hymns, and other music for use in worship and fellowship.  In addition, they learn about stories and people from the Bible, how to use the hymnal, and how to be a worship leader. 

The Preschool Cherubs meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:00pm (September - June) and is led by Kimmie Kenney and Kim Coleman.

JOYFUL NOISE

The Joyful Noise is for children in grades K-1.  Children in the Joyful Noise learn anthems, songs, hymns, and other music for use in worship and fellowship.  Joyful Noise participate both in Sunday worship services throughout the year and assist with the Children's musicals. 

Joyful Noise meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:00pm (September - June) and is led by Kris Bagwell and Megan Olson.

WAYS TO PRAISE

The Ways to Praise group is for children in grades 2-6.  They also learn how to be worship leaders and sing in worship several times throughout the year.  The Ways to Praise present a Christmas Musical each Advent.  This group is also exposed to a variety of Christian Arts.

The Ways to Praise group meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:00pm (September - June) and is led by Carol Clark and Julie Little.

ADULT CHOIR

The Adult Choir is charged with leading our congregation in worship at the 10:30 service.  The rehearsals are held every Wednesday evening from 7:00-8:00pm in the Choir Room of the Music Suite.  No auditions are required to join us in our volunteer choir.  The Adult Choir also prepares special music for various occasions throughout the year. Childcare is available during the rehearsals. 

PRAISE AND WORSHIP TEAM

The Praise and Worship Team provides music and leadership for our Contemporary Worship Service at 8:30am. The group consists of instrumentalist and vocalists of all ages and talent ranges. The Praise and Worship Team rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 6:15-7:00pm. The team is led by our Contemporary Worship Leader, Sandy Stillman-Alvin.

HANDBELL CHOIR

The Adult Handbell Choir meets on Sunday afternoons from 4:45-5:45pm (September - June) in the Handbell Room of the Music Suite.  The Handbell Choir plays on occasion in worship and for special services.  This group adds a unique and exciting dimension to our Music Ministry and is led by Jim Costilow.
