Coming in June . . .
Meet the Missionaries Series
Wednesdays in June at 6:45pm

We will meet live at the church with a ZOOM option to participate with us virtually. For those of you joining us LIVE there will be free pizza!  Please send an e-mail to admin@woodhaven.org or call the church office (919-362-0127) to let us know you are coming so that we order pizza for you!

Take this opportunity to meet and hear from some of the mission efforts supported by your tithes and offerings. In addition to meeting some of our current mission partners, on the last night of this series, you will have the chance to hear from a couple in Woodhaven who served as missionaries to Africa.  On the five Wednesdays of June at 6:45 p.m, we invite you to join us live or online for our Meet the Missionaries series. The schedule for this series is below.

For those who plan to join us live, we will meet in the Fellowship Hall and will be serving pizza at 6:30pm just before the meeting.

For those of you that choose to join us via ZOOM, this series will be livestreamed and the link to join us online will be sent each week in Tuesday’s regular e-mail. Plan now to gather with us to meet the missionaries!
Meet the Missionaries schedule:

  • Wednesday June 23 – Larry Hovis (CBFNC)
  • Wednesday June 30 – Hugh and Rebecca McKinley

WOODHAVEN VBS is coming . . .

WOOO WOOOO!
Our 2021 Vacation Bible School is set for July 25-29. Mark your calendars to “get on board the ROCKY RAILWAY”.  Below is the link to register for both kids and volunteers!  This year we will have to limit the number of kids, so it is important to register early!
There are a few things we could use as we prepare for this fun time. . .we could use some “evergreen” tree decorations for our Rocky Mountain scenery so if you have an artificial Christmas tree that we could borrow that would be great!  We are also looking for a pocket watch on a chain for conductor Abercrombie to use!  If you have any of these items, or questions email emily@woodhaven.org or call the church office (919-362-0127) and get on board!

NEEDED:  Donated Computers and Parts
Have you upgraded at home and have some extra equipment available?  Our IT team is looking for some donations. We are most in need of:

CPU’s to use on desktop computers that can be reconfigured, wireless keyboards, wireless mice, and large oversized monitors. We do not need any more monitors less than 24” diagonal.  THANK YOU!!

As we work to upgrade all of our meeting rooms to be “hybrid”, running sessions live online and in person, our IT team is working hard to make the plan reality.   Questions?  You can e-mail David Abercrombie dsabercrombie@gmail.com or drop off items in the fellowship hall at church.  THANKS!

OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE . . .

Loving Volunteers needed:

As Woodhaven moves back to a more “on campus” experience for worship, we are looking for volunteers to minister to our little ones.  We need volunteers ready to cuddle, comfort, and care for our youngest members when they return!  You will be working with children ages 0-5.
QUALIFICATIONS: Two arms to cuddle and comfort, two hands to build with blocks or play with cars, one voice to read books or sing “Jesus Loves Me” (your audience won’t even mind if it’s off key), and one heart willing to share God’s love with the youngest members of our Woodhaven Community.
WHEN: One Sunday morning a month (or every other month) from 10:10 – 11:40.
REWARD: The love of a child, the satisfaction of knowing that you minister to more than just a few children but also to their families.  Sunday morning may be the only opportunity young couples have to sit together quietly plus you minister to the Woodhaven congregation when you allow them to worship without the distractions of squirmy little ones who are too young to be expected to sit quietly through the worship service.
Are you up for it?  Contact Emily at emily@woodhaven.org or call the church office to get on the volunteer list! 919-362-0127

Western Wake Crisis Ministry
Meal Deliveries

Western Wake Crisis Ministry’s vision is to create a brighter future for all by cultivating a healthy, hunger-free and housing-stable community. By partnering with those in crisis, helping them gain stability through basic supports for food, financial/housing assistance, education, and opportunity.  Woodhaven supports this ministry through our tithes and offerings as well as by actively helping with monthly deliveries of food and staples.
CLICK HERE for an informational video about Woodhaven’s participation
We need at least three volunteers to help deliver food on behalf of Western Wake Crisis Ministry each date.  This usually takes about 2-3 hours, and is a mission/ministry well worth your time.  COVID-19 precautions are in place for contactless delivery.  If you are interested in helping, use the email below to sign up and get details.
This ongoing activity is organized through our Woodhaven on Mission committee. Email: missions@woodhaven.org

We are currently enrolling new students in our Weekday Preschool for the 2021/2022 school year. Please share this with your family, neighbors, friends or anyone that is looking for a preschool!  You may contact sherry@woodhaven.org  for information!
