Preschool & Children

Children hold a special place in the heart of Christ, and they are dearly loved at Woodhaven! We plan weekly activities with care to help preschoolers and children discover God’s love.

 

Sunday School & Children’s Worship

9:10 – 10:10 a.m. Sunday School
10:10 – 10:30 a.m. Fellowship Time
10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Children’s Worship for Kindergarten – 3rd grade
  • Infants and toddlers get lots of cuddles while preschoolers play and learn Bible stories, verses and songs. Care for infants and toddlers extends through the worship service, which ends at 11:30 a.m.
  • During Sunday School, children in Kindergarten through 5th grade learn what it means to be a Christian through hands-on activities, such as scavenger hunts, games, reading the Bible, drama and role playing. 
  • Children in Kindergarten through 3rd grade have their own special worship experience in the Multipurpose Room while parents and older children participate in morning worship in the Sanctuary. 
 

Wednesdays in Fall and Spring

5:15 – 6:05 p.m. Dinner & Fellowship (Reservations required for dinner. Let us cook for you!
6:10 p.m. – 7:10 p.m. Activities for All Ages
  • We invite children in Kindergarten through 5th grade to join us on Wednesdays for music, missions and Bible learning designed to tap into kids’ natural curiosity. We mix it up each week to show kids that following Jesus never gets old!
  • Preschool and nursery activities are available, as well, so bring the whole family and friends!

 

VBS (Vacation Bible School)

BLAST OFF WITH US! June 25-29 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Preschool to Rising 6th Graders

VBS is an annual favorite for children and adults. (They’re just big kids, anyway!) Held in the evenings during summer break, this special week delivers the simple truth that God loves us through a captivating theme each year. Kids remember not only the wacky skit characters and messy crafts but also the Bible points and memory verses. Our VBS is open to the community. Friends and neighbors are welcome!
 

Special Events

Woodhaven also offers events throughout the year to help children grow in their faith and have fun with one another. Our Children’s Council plans annual opportunities, including overnight retreats, family picnics, parents’ nights out, and seasonal activities to learn about Christian celebrations.
