Serve

Woodhaven is a mission-minded church! Whether your first love is to support missions or do missions, we come together in a variety of ways to be the hands of Christ in many places of need.

Our annual family-friendly Rise Against Hunger food packaging event brings the community together on our campus for a morning of feeding others, as does our monthly participation in SONshine in the Park, where we feed hungry people in downtown Raleigh.

Youth and adults participate in regional and international missions trips and receive training through Baptists on Missions in basic disaster and construction skills so we will be ready in times of need.

We support and celebrate the involvement of our church members who are called to share their time and talents by partnering with others and through employer sponsored volunteer service. Some examples of how our members exercise their hearts for missions include: participating in Habitat for Humanity builds, cleaning teeth at dental fairs, teaching budgeting and financial literacy, offering free medical screenings, caring for women in prison and their children, mentoring students in need of one-on-one time with a loving adult, teaching English as a second language to refugees, and fostering babies who are in the process of being adopted.

1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

No matter how you love to serve in Jesus’ name, Woodhaven celebrates your calling and is blessed by your service! Explore ways in our community and learn about missions beyond our backyard to be the hands and feet of Christ.
