How do I become a member?

As Baptists, we believe that affiliating with the church is a public decision. That is why we always extend an invitation to those who are interested in becoming a part of our congregation during our 10:30 am worship each week. You are encouraged to come forward: as we sing the hymn of invitation and become a member of Woodhaven in one of the following ways:
  • Statement of acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord to be followed by baptism by immersion.
  • Transfer of membership from another Baptist church.
  • Statement of previous acceptance of Jesus as Savior and Lord which was followed by baptism by immersion.
  • Statement of previous acceptance of Jesus as Savior and Lord and previous baptism by a mode other than immersion.
  • Statement of acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord to be followed by baptism by a mode other than immersion when physical limitations or other extenuating circumstances render immersion impractical or inadvisable.

How do I become baptized?

The church will receive for baptism any person who professes Jesus Christ as Savior, and who indicates a commitment to follow Christ as Lord. Baptism will be by immersion, except when physical limitations or other extenuating circumstances render immersion impractical or inadvisable.

What do we believe about communion?

Woodhaven celebrates Communion on the third Sunday of odd numbered months during the 10:30 a.m. service and Christmas Eve. The Communion table at Woodhaven is not restricted in any manner, for all who believe in Christ are welcome.

What do we believe about the role of women?

We affirm the leadership of women in all areas of Christian service, including as deacons, teachers, and pastoral ministers. We believe the Bible teaches the full equality of women and men, and that the Holy Spirit empowers both with spiritual gifts; consequently, both are called to develop and use their God-given talents for the good of church, home and society.
Genesis 1:26-28; Acts 2:1-21; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11; Galatians 3:28; Ephesians 5:21
